Rivanna River Basin Mural
We are happy to announce that the fundraiser for the creation of a mural in downtown Charlottesville to celebrate both the Clean Water Act and the Rivanna River basin was a success! The mural will be officially installed on Nov. 12, and a small dedication ceremony will take place at 12:00 p.m. on November 13, located at 1st St S, on the back of the Tru Pilates building and right next to the railroad tracks.

Stormwater Local Assistance Fund (SLAF)
Reminder: Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is soliciting applications for financial assistance through the newly created Stormwater Local Assistance Fund (SLAF). DEQ has $35 million in matching grant funds for distribution. The SLAF Program Guidelines are HERE. All localities are eligible. The deadline is 11/15.

From website: Stormwater Utilities: Reckoning the Cost Side of the Equation. Developing an effective stormwater utility demands an understanding of both the revenue and cost side of the equation. There are various, well-understood methodologies for the revenue and rate-setting side of the equation, but getting a good read on the actual costs of operating a program and implementing BMPs seems much more mysterious. How can a program developing or modifying a stormwater utility do a better job of honing actual costs, both today and into the future? This webcast will provide resources and case studies on this topic.
